Dorine Sorber was born in Leiden, the Netherlands. She started piano lessons when she was 7 years old, and was admitted in the class of professor Mikhail Markov for gifted children a few years later.
She subsequently studied with professor Youli Galperin in Paris, and with professors Yevgeni Moguilevski and Mikhail Faerman at the Royal conservatoire of Brussels. She obtained her Bachelor and Master degree in piano performance, as well as a Mphil (agrégation) in piano pedagogy.
She spent 3 summers in Russia in 2002, 2003 and 2005 to study with Professor Viktor Merzhanov at the summer school in memory of Sergey Rachmaninov in Tambov.
Dorine moved to Scotland in 2014 where she is active both as a performer, a collaborative pianist and a piano teacher. She is part of the ZeNoBo piano trio, which was founded in 2022.
